The question of what expectations a digital agency can fulfill always has two answers . One from the perspective of the client and the other from the perspective of the digital agency. And no, this blog will not be about how the agency perspective is the only correct one.
The client has the right to demand results. They have the right to say they want more reactions to a post, faster follower growth, or more traffic to the website. Honestly, I understand that. I would probably look at the numbers myself first, how many views, how many comments, how many new followers. And if those numbers weren’t what I expected, I probably wouldn’t be happy either.
However, the problem is that digital agencies today often expect everything right away : a viral campaign, overnight growth, perfect content from the start without a brief, sales results after three published Reels.
Why digital agency results don’t come overnight
Digital agencies exist for a reason. But some things are not designed by us, but by our (un)friend the algorithm. We know exactly what we need to give it to make it “listen” to us, but just as a client sells their product or service, so do digital platforms . That’s why not everything is always simple, fast and cheap.
(If you are interested in more detail about how algorithms work and why they play such a role in the results, read more about it in another blog .)
In addition to the algorithm, there is also the audience that still needs to be known and tested , what passes, what content it reacts to, when it is active and what it is actually interested in.
We would love to be able to say, “Give us three months and results are guaranteed.” But digital agencies don’t work that way. To truly understand how a brand “breathes,” how audiences respond, and what delivers long-term results, it takes time.
In most cases, a minimum of three months is all it takes to properly test a strategy and collect the first relevant data. Only then can we draw conclusions, optimize content, and build something that isn’t just short-term hype.

What are you actually paying when you hire a digital agency?
The first thing that comes to mind is honesty. We don’t want to “sell you a lie”, and the best part about digital marketing is that almost everything is measurable. The numbers show very quickly whether we are doing well or not.
When you hire a digital agency, you don’t just pay for a few posts a month. You pay for a fully managed process , from creating an annual strategy and communication planning, running campaigns, through creating content for social networks and the web, all the way to analyzing results and monthly reports.
What is most important to me personally is proactivity . An agency should not just execute tasks, but constantly think ahead, propose new ideas, follow trends and look for ways to improve client results.
One such example is Sardina Postira , a brand whose digital presence we built from the very beginning. Together, we laid the foundations of social media communication, tested different approaches, analyzed the results, and continuously adjusted the strategy to find what works best for their brand and audience.
Today, the numbers confirm that we are on the right track, website traffic and user retention time are above average, and the community on social networks is growing every day. And this is just the beginning of the story.
Digital marketing is a marathon, not a sprint
A marathon that the agency and the client run together. The most important thing is trust, followed by honest communication and continuous investment and work. When we have that, long-term cooperation brings top results for both parties.
